Fuelling Clean Aviation for Europe

Scaling up SAF production towards carbon neutrality and the Green Deal

Date: 19 April 2023 – 10.00-15.30 CEST
Venue: Region of Tuscany EU Liaison Office – Rond Point Schuman 14 – Brussels (and online)

This event and roundtable aim at presenting and discussing solutions for scaling up the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuels and their deployment in Europe towards 2030 and beyond. The event will present the milestones achieved by the BIO4A partners in the production, blending and distribution of SAF at kilotonnes scale. It will also illustrate challenges and solutions for the deployment of feedstock alternatives to waste lipids and oils, obtained from low ILUC risk agricultural biomass, from HEFA pathways. A panel debate will look at the opportunities of a synergistic policy and agro-industrial approach to reconcile SAF deployment at scale with carbon removal and soil health, for carbon neutrality and the other objectives of the EU Green Deal.
